Out in front of our post office in Twisp, Washington, an old phone booth has been recycled into a tiny lending library. This was a project of Methow Arts and the phone booth was donated by CenturyLink which has a small facility next to the post office.
The sign on the front says "Take a book, return another in its place". I think the whole idea is awesome!
really nice usage of that!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of this before - they do it in places over here (across the Pond) too. Brilliant idea.
ReplyDeletewe see this at a campground all the time. & i participate in that, 2 times, i think it has been so far. i have to remember my books to trade in ... it is too fun! ( :
ReplyDeletelove the idea of doing it in a phone booth though. recycling in a totally different idea or form.
I have heard of these free libraries, we have one at a used book store on the North End.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely idea ... I read something about these little libraries just the other day and it is great to see one. Cool to use a recycled phone booth for the recycle books. Love it.
