I have been working on a quilt that uses strips which are cut down into a couple hundred smaller pieces. To make things go quicker for me, I measured out my cutting lengths and put pieces of tape with arrows drawn on them down on my cutting mat. The picture below is for the 2-1/2" long cuts I needed to make. No more counting out the inches of where to cut. I just line up my ruler and cut at each mark. And no permanent markings on my mat. Easy-peasy!!

Measure once, cut a gazillion pieces! |
Now back to sewing redneck style...
A fellow quilter also named Sally gave me this idea from her
blog to take my sewing machine with me when I went camping. So I did! Twice I set my machine up on the picnic table and did a little sewing this past weekend.

Quilting Redneck Style! |
I could really get into camping if I could take my sewing machine and have a beautiful camp setting like this. Looks like so much fun.

Ha! I've seen people with refrigerators plugged in at their tent sites (outside); at least you can put the sewing machine away at night....
ReplyDeleteIt is cool to have a hobby you want to do even on holiday!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! It was probably much nicer sewing out in the great outdoors in the shade.
ReplyDeleteIt has been so unbearably hot this summer, so you had a good idea to quilt outside!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of sewing with an outdoor view. When do we get to see the quilting project?
ReplyDeleteI better not let my wife see this! We are already lugging around too much stuff in our RV. Great idea though!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I forgot to say... That is one really nice looking spot you are parked at. We don't see many (as in NONE), that nice, down my way...
ReplyDeleteI have seriously considered taking my sewing machine outside to quilt while at home!
