There is a large wildfire burning about thirty miles south of me, currently about 6,400 acres. The smoke came up the Methow Valley and made for a beautiful sunrise the other morning. The winds finally changed direction and by afternoon, the skies were clear again. The firefighters are slowly gaining the upper hand on the fire.

It's terrible about the fire, that's for sure. The smoke can make for beautiful sunsets though... Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great name for the photo even without the reference of a real fire. Nice. http://looseleafnotes.com
ReplyDeleteThe smoke does make for colorful skies, but hope the fire is put out soon.
ReplyDeleteThe smoke does indeed make for colorful skies, but I do hope they are able to put the fires out soon and I hope that you're in no danger! Terrific capture for the day! Hope you have a great, fire-free weekend, Sally!

Wildfires make for beautiful skies, and this ones a beaut!
ReplyDeleteAh fires are bad stuff. Didn't know there was a fire out that a way. Over on the ranch where my daughter lives they had a wheat field fire and she said she hoped they didn't have another. Of course. I hope this one is contained soon. MB
ReplyDeleteThough smoky sunrise isn't a good thing, but it's captured beautifully.
