Look closely and you will see three paragliders. They were descending near the Beebe Bridge outside of Chelan, Washington. Behind them was a storm cell that was pushing through the area northwest of where they were coming down. A couple of hours after we passed through, there were a few lightning-caused wildfires reported in that vicinity. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be caught up in the sky with that kind of weather. We had thunderstorm warnings most of the weekend so it shouldn't have been a surprise.

Although I'd love to try paragliding, only under a clear sky. Yet, I'll bet this was a wild ride.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot … those are true adventurers up in those skies!
ReplyDeleteHow cool, if I was brave I would love to try the paragliding. Great skywatch, Sallie. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi there - I think they may be in for a rough ride! Splendid picture.

Beautiful picture, and scary -- we saw a sailboat out on the Lake yesterday while there was lightening and thunder...are they nuts?
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look like a very good time to be up in the sky. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI guess they just wanted to get closer to those clouds. What an awesome sky! I'm back in NorCal now...missing the cooler PNW temps.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome picture you took. I can't believe anyone would paraglide in that weather!
