First Canning
Several weeks ago, I bought a box of red anjou pears and did my first ever attempt at canning them. It was a lot of work peeling and coring them and I sure did make a mess in my kitchen. However, I like the idea of eating them come this winter when fresh pears will be much harder to get. I did pint size jars - more of a 2 serving size rather than putting up quarts of pears.

Great job! Canning gets easier the more you do it :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of work but the reward is great.
ReplyDeleteA fine shot of the result of your hard work. They canned pears look very good...and will taste great in the months o winter.
ReplyDeleteThose look worthy of the State Fair. Blue ribbon worthy!
