Wacky Wednesday - Out of the Corner of My Eye

As I was flying from Wenatchee, WA to Seattle this past Sunday, I was taking pictures of Rocky Reach Dam on the Columbia River far below the plane.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the airplane prop. So guess what? I took a picture of it with my cell phone. Or two. Or three. This was my favorite. It looks like it is missing blades. Eek!

All Aboard!

My work schedule was really hectic in January with having to work at a couple of boat shows on the weekends along with my regular work schedule. One of the shows was in Seattle, Washington. To get there, I took Amtrak from the Wenatchee station. The cost of the train versus fuel, parking and the hassle of dealing with mountain passes via car was significantly less. Plus I love to travel by train.

The train crosses the Cascade Mountains and then runs alongside Puget Sound from Everett to Seattle. It is a very picturesque trip!

InSPIREd Sunday - Holy Apostles

I spotted this church from the air when landing at Pangborn Aiport in East Wenatchee, Washington last month. I was curious because it was round, at least the main sanctuary was. While unique in shape, it reminded me of an old water tank that was re-purposed into a church. I doubt that is the case but I found the church to be rather cold feeling from the exterior. I guess is it not really my style of architecture.

TwoFer Tuesday - Corvettes

I actually saw more than two Corvettes this past Saturday, but thought I would share an early C1 (I forgot to check the year but I believe it is a 1959 or 1960) and a 2009 C6 in Atomic Orange. Yes, I have an unabashed preference for the C6 since it lives in our garage.

2009 C6 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

There were over 90 Corvettes at the show in Wenatchee, Washington, a record turnout! The weather was spectacular to boot!

Watery Wednesday - Columbia River

Here's a shot from way up high of the Columbia River just north of Wenatchee, Washington. The dam you see is Rocky Reach, one of several along the river. This view is looking north. In the flat areas along the river are many orchards. I make the drive along Highway 97 that is on the right or east side of the river every time I travel to Minnesota.

I fly out of Wenatchee so it was neat on the Seattle to Minnepolis leg of my last flight to fly right back over where I started, only at a much higher altitude. The day was fairly clear and I could easily identify places across Eastern Washington as the plane flew eastward.
