Rurality - The Tractor Did It

Maybe these signs are just posted during the harvest season, or maybe they go up during Spring planting and stay until Winter. I don't know the answer, but to me they are a sure sign of rural life when drivers have to be warned about mud on the road due to the tractors moving from field to field.

Sign near Sabin, Minnesota

  1. I meant to tell you that we got about 4 inches of snow. Marshall, about 20 miles away, got 8 1/2!

  5. Yup, I think so too... I love the ones that tell you they are impassable from 11/1 to 5/1 or something to that effect, it always makes me think twice in the Palouse during spring break in April.... Thank you for coming by to share on Rurality Blog Hop #39! (I sent you an invite to join the PNW Bloggers Co-op)...

  10. Blame it on the tractor. It is a new sign for me, too. None in our neck of the woods.

  11. What a wonderful find Sally!
I guess some things are taken for granted in some parts of the country but not in others.
Here there's always mud somewhere when it rains all year long from the many dirt roads that intersect with the paved highways. It's something we expect.

  12. Haha! That one does bring a chuckle!! Funny I've never noticed the roads being slippery from the mud...more like driving on bumps and ruts. :)

  14. That's a good one! I drove my freshly washed and waxed RV while towing my freshly washed and waxed jeep onto a VERY muddy road in Yuma last winter. When I stopped to see how much mud I'd picked up, I almost cried. The RV was bad enough, but the jeep was COVERED with mud from the RV rear tires.

  16. Kind of like, "road gets wet when it rains." But some people need to see it in writing to believe it! :)
