All Aboard!

My work schedule was really hectic in January with having to work at a couple of boat shows on the weekends along with my regular work schedule. One of the shows was in Seattle, Washington. To get there, I took Amtrak from the Wenatchee station. The cost of the train versus fuel, parking and the hassle of dealing with mountain passes via car was significantly less. Plus I love to travel by train.

The train crosses the Cascade Mountains and then runs alongside Puget Sound from Everett to Seattle. It is a very picturesque trip!

  1. The first few photos reminded me of the wild west as seen in old movies. I especially love the sunset photo with all the little channels on the beach.

  3. Fabulous post, Sally! Lots of bridges! Lots of great scenery! There is something quite fine about traveling by train you just don't get by car or plane. «Louis» is delighted that you linked this with Sunday Bridges. :-)

  4. What a great train ride! You saw lots of beautiful scenery. I've driven that road through the mountains so some of those scenes look familiar. Enjoy the week!

  5. You have some incredible shots! I love the photo of the train driving into the mist and, of course, the photos of Seattle. It's one of my all-time favourite cities to visit.

  6. What a great train ride! I would love to take it. I saw the Mukilteo Lighthouse when I was in Washington State several years ago. Saw several others too.

  8. What a fine trip. Love all your pictures. We have a fairly new station in Stanwood and I want to go somewhere by train. Portland, BC even Bellingham would be fun. I have been on a train only once a few years ago to Portland for my work. It was fun. MB
