Sunday Bridges - Riverfront Park

I've always liked photographing bridges so now I have another excuse to continue. Joining the Sunday Bridges meme for the first time this weekend.

Riverfront Park in Spokane, Washington - site of the 1974 World's Fair. The Pavilon and IMAX theater are in the center behind the two pedestrian bridges over the Spokane River.

  3. How ironic that you post this! «Louis» was thinking a couple of days ago about this very enjoyable park, the site of a Worlds Fair in the late '70s. When «Louis» worked at the corporate office of Safeway, he used to come to Spokane on Safeway business. He would stay at one of the hotels (Sheraton?) adjacent to the park and would take a morning run through it. Delightful post and a very welcome contribution to Sunday Bridges!.

  4. That was such a great example of what a worlds fair should do -- bring awareness of the city and lasting improvements. It was a great Fair too. (We lived in Oregon by then and my parents about 100 miles away from Spokane, but they had season family pass and we made the trip twice to go to the fair, with our four kids. We all remember it fondly.
